Non-hemorrhagic stroke, the most common type of stroke
Non-hemorrhagic stroke is a disease caused by a blockage in the blood flow in the brain. types of stroke, namely hemorrhagic stroke and non-hemorrhagic stroke or what is known as ischemic stroke. Whatever the type, stroke is a medical emergency that needs immediate treatment.
Stroke occurs when the blood supply to a part of the brain is cut off or greatly reduced. If this happens, then in a matter of minutes brain cells will start to die. Many factors can increase your risk of stroke, for example:
- Overweight (overweight), or obese.
- Rarely move or exercise.
- The habit of drinking alcoholic beverages.
- Smoking habit.
- Use of illegal drugs, such as cocaine and methamphetamine.
- Have certain diseases, such as: heart rhythm disorders, heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, and high cholesterol.
- Have a family history of stroke.
Causes and Symptoms of Non-Hemorrhagic Stroke
Different types, certainly different causes and treatments between hemorrhagic stroke and non-hemorrhagic stroke. Hemorrhagic stroke occurs when a blood vessel in the brain ruptures, causing bleeding. Blood leaked due to rupture of blood vessels, will suppress brain cells and damage it. While non-hemorrhagic or ischemic stroke, has two possible causes. The first cause, namely blood clots that form in blood vessels in your brain. The second cause, is a clot that forms elsewhere and is carried through blood vessels to the brain. These blood clots can stop the flow of blood to certain parts of the brain. Non-hemorrhagic stroke is the most common type of stroke, which is about 87 percent of all stroke cases. Symptoms of a non-hemorrhagic or ischemic stroke depend on which part of the brain is affected. Some of these symptoms include:- Numbness or weakness in the face, arms, or legs suddenly. Often on only one side of the body, but can also occur on both sides of the body.
- Experiencing confusion.
- Interference occurs in speaking or understanding the words of others.
- Dizziness, headaches, loss of balance or coordination, and difficulty walking.
- Blurred or double vision.
